Alhamdulillah Ustadh Alyas delivered an excellent talk on how to deal with depression, anxiety and stress from an Islamic perspective. A very important subject that’s incredibly relevant in our time.
There were some hard hitting reminders and stories of various experiences our local community members have had and continue to go through. It has come as a real wake up call for us all as we need to understand and support those going through mental health challenges.
Ustadh Alyas further highlighted the importance of mental health awareness amongst the Muslim community.
We pray that Allah makes it easy for those going through such trials and remind ourselves that Allah does not burden a soul with more than it can bear. We also ask Allah to keep us firm and patient with all such tests. Finally, we are reminded that, as a community, we should support one another, so look for support and do not feel you must suffer alone or in silence.
